Globalink Logistics has again set high standards in project logistics with its latest achievement in transporting oversized cargo for the Nurek Hydro Power Project in Tajikistan. Completed in November 2023, this operation highlights Globalink’s three decades of experience handling complex project logistics in challenging environments like Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Globalink has been pivotal to the Nurek Hydro Power Project for over ten years, expertly moving abnormal loads from global origins to Tajikistan. A notable example was in 2022 when Globalink transported two massive transformers, each over 200 tons and 20,000 tons of project cargo, showcasing their large-scale logistical capabilities.
The 2023 project was particularly challenging, involving the transportation of a 5-meter high, 155-ton cargo from China through Turkey’s Hyderpasha Port. Navigating through the Black Sea and the Kerch Strait required precise timing to align with the Volga-Don river navigation season’s end. Globalink’s strategic presence in Istanbul, Astrakhan, and Bautino was crucial for this operation’s success.
The road segment of the cargo’s journey from Bautino Port through the mountainous terrains of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan called for specialized transport solutions. Globalink’s deployment of specialized multi-axel trailers, multiple 6×6 heavy-duty tractors, and extensive civil works ensured the cargo’s safe passage, demonstrating their logistical ingenuity.
Upon reaching its destination, Globalink’s team in Tajikistan skillfully managed the import customs clearance, discharging and cargo installation on foundation processes. This end-to-end management exemplifies their ability to oversee every logistical aspect, from transit to final delivery.
